Porphyry Stone is quarried with soft blasting, a method that doesn’t alter the fundamental characteristic of this natural stone, the continuous layers of parallel slabs (like book pages)
This allows the quarries to yield, with a non disrupting action, larger natural slabs, vary in thickness and dimensions, to be then selected and used to manufacture a diverse range of Porphyry products.

The 3 main porphyry products are Setts (Cobblestones), Split and Sawn Pavers (Tiles) and the Random Flagstones (Crazy Pavers).
Cobblestones (Setts)

Cubes are laid on gravel for a permeable surface (i.e. landscaped gardens / tree surrounds) or on semidry mortar over a stabilized substrate for heavy traffic areas.

Split and Sawn Tiles (Pavers)

Tiles with natural surfaces are often applied for paving and cladding in internal and external areas.

Split Tiles have split sides/edges (guillotined) and Sawn tiles have Diamond Sawn Sides/edges.

This products are used by architects, garden designers and landscapers in all types of projects, they constitute one of the most suitable and formal paving product for squares, streets, sidewalks, arcades and public Squares.
Tiles are installed on mortar bedding over standard concrete foundation.

Random Pavers (Flagstones / Crazy Paving)

This irregular slabs are sorted directly from the primary selection of quarry material.

These polygonal tiles have a natural surface and rough edges, they are sorted by their diagonal sizes and variable thickness. ( Small, Standard and Giant Size)
